Fairmont Dubai appoints DOE

Fairmont Dubai appoints Samuel Saravanan as director of engineering. Most recently, he was chief engineer at Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort. Saravanan brings 24 years of experience across multiple industries. His prior tenure with Accor included successful senior unit leadership appointments. 

 

Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek appoints key personnel

Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights Hotel & Residences has appointed two new executives to its Leadership Committee. Ghada Salah joins as executive assistant manager – sales and marketing, to drive the commercial strategy, focussing on growing International Mice and corporate business. Her mandate also includes identifying new market segments, as well as increasing average daily rate and market share. Ishan Gangakhedkar has been named director of revenue management, responsible for streamlining distribution channels, optimising revenue streams, and aligning the property's long-term strategy.

 

Jones to handle Europe as well

Marriott International has appointed Marriott veteran, Neal Jones, as chief sales and marketing officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), adding Europe to his portfolio that until recently covered only Middle East and Africa. Jones began his career at Marriott International in London over 20 years ago.

 

Six Senses appoints CCO

Bryan Gabriel, a 15 years IHG veteran, joins Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas as chief commercial officer where he will be overseeing the group’s sales and marketing department and implementing effective systems to support the brand’s expansion. Most recently, Gabriel was head of commercial for America from 2016.

 

Adlon Kempinski in Berlin gets MD

Kempinski has appointed Michael Sorgenfrey, a familiar face at the Adlon, as managing director of the iconic Adlon Kempinski in Berlin. The 52-year-old has had a decade-long career in the international luxury hotel industry. Most recently, he was vice-president operations, Middle East & Africa for Kempinski.

 

Rotana gets new cluster GM

Rotana Hotel Management has appointed Timur Ilgaz as the cluster general manager for Arjaan Dubai Media City and Centro Barsha in Dubai. Ilgaz has been associated with Rotana for over 13 years and has more than 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry working in Turkey, Canada and more. 

 

Spyridon joins Four Seasons

Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence appoints hotel manager Spyridon Georgakopoulos. Spyridon will use his leadership and experience to contribute to the rebirth and repositioning of this great hotel, which celebrates twenty years since opening as the first Four Seasons in Egypt and the region.

 

Hartwell is new corporate MD

Kieran Hartwell is the first MD for corporate travel at Travel Counsellors. Hartwell’s role will include scaling Travel Counsellors for Business over the next five years, identifying the right investments to support the growing network of corporate travel specialists and clients, and acting as global leader for corporate.
