Sameh El Amri has been appointed the general manager of S Hotel Al Barsha in Dubai. An experienced hotelier, El Amri has worked with a number of top hotel groups such as Starwood, Marriott, Accor and IHG. He first entered the hospitality industry when he joined Le Meridien Kuwait in 1995.
Mustafa Abu Al Ainen has been appointed the general manager of Grand Millennium Business Bay. An Irish- Egyptian national, Ainen joins Grand Millennium Business Bay with a wealth of 25 years of experience. Prior to this, he was the director of operations for Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East.
Hilton has appointed Jochem-Jan Sleiffer as area president, Middle East, Africa & Turkey. Sleiffer takes on his new position following a three-decade career at Hilton. He most recently served as senior VP operations, Continental Europe, overseeing a portfolio of 57 Hilton managed hotels across 26 countries and territories.
Luxury hotelier Stefan Viard has been appointed general manager of ME Dubai, the new flagship property of Spanish hotel brand ME by Meliá. Prior to this, he worked as general manager for Vida Hotels and Resorts, overseeing two hotels in Dubai. Viard began his hospitality career 17 years ago with the Hyatt group.
Alternative Airlines has appointed Thomas Garrett as Global Airlines relationship manager. Garrett joins the UK-based flight booking platform with over 10 years’ experience in the tourism sector, previously working as an airline account manager and before that as part of an Air Product Trading team.
