As part of the Hala Summer 2026 programme, Visit Qatar is promoting a range of waterparks and aquatic attractions aimed at families across the GCC.
With strong air and
land connections, simplified entry procedures, and a compact geography, Qatar
offers visitors the opportunity to combine leisure, entertainment, shopping,
dining, and hospitality experiences within a short stay.
Among the featured
attractions is Meryal Waterpark on Qetaifan Island North in Lusail. As Qatar’s
largest waterpark, it offers 53 slides and 69 attractions.
The park is home to
the 85-metre Icon Tower, recognised as the world’s tallest waterpark tower,
featuring several large-scale water slides.
Family-focused
facilities include splash zones, lazy rivers, and wave pools designed for
different age groups.
During June, Meryal
Beach is hosting the Summer Splash programme, running from 1 to 30 June.
The event includes
live entertainment, interactive activities, and appearances by Nickelodeon
characters such as PAW Patrol and SpongeBob SquarePants, with activities
extending into the evening.
Another key
destination is Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park, located within Hilton
Salwa Beach Resort & Villas on Qatar’s western coast. Positioned near the
Abu Samra border, it is accessible for visitors arriving by road from
neighbouring GCC countries.
Covering more than
57,000 square metres, the park features over 30 rides and attractions,
including raft rides, surfing simulators, and children’s splash areas.
It also offers
activities beyond the waterpark, such as go-karting, laser tag, and canyoning.
Together with the
resort’s accommodation, beach access, and dining facilities, the attraction
provides a family-oriented leisure option.
Both destinations are featured under the Hala Summer programme and the Kids Go Free campaign, which encourage GCC visitors to explore Qatar during the summer season. -TTN
