Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind Saudi Arabia's ambitious regenerative tourism projects, has announced that the first resorts and attractions on Shura Island are now beginning to open, offering a unique winter getaway.

The initial phase of the launch includes the debut of three world-class hospitality brands and a championship golf course, providing travel professionals with a compelling new product to offer clients.

The first resorts welcoming guests in the coming weeks are the SLS Red Sea, The Red Sea EDITION, and the InterContinental The Red Sea Resort. Each property offers a distinct luxury experience. The SLS The Red Sea features 150 luxurious rooms and villas, blending natural beauty with signature flair and curated cultural experiences. The Red Sea EDITION provides a sanctuary of modern luxury with 240 rooms and suites, a world-class spa, and multiple dining venues. The InterContinental The Red Sea Resort offers a five-star, barefoot luxury escape with 178 rooms and 32 suites, a design inspired by the surrounding coral reefs, and five dining venues.

Arrivals to Shura Island will be a unique experience in itself, with guests arriving by boat to the island’s marina or by electric vehicle across the stunning 3.3km Shura crossing, which features Saudi Arabia’s longest internal bridge. The gateway to the destination, Red Sea International Airport (RSI), is already welcoming domestic and international flights, with Qatar Airways recently announcing direct flights three times a week.

Adding to the island's allure is Shura Links, Saudi Arabia’s first island golf course. This championship 18-hole course is designed to blend natural desert landscapes with lush fairways and a strong focus on sustainability. The course, which is accessible to guests and residents of all Red Sea resorts, provides a new and unique offering for golf tourism.

Shura Island, envisioned as the vibrant heart of The Red Sea destination, will eventually be home to 11 world-class resorts, with the remaining eight set to open in the coming months. These include properties from Faena, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Jumeirah, Miraval, Raffles, and Rosewood.
