Fatima Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, met with Ahmed bin Aqeel Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, to discuss enhancing tourism cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum
2025, held on November 2–3, reported BNA.
During the meeting, the ministers explored efforts to implement the memorandum
of understanding on promoting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia as a single regional and
international tourism destination, and to strengthen the tourism sector’s
growth in both countries, supporting ambitious economic development goals.
Minister Al Sairafi highlighted Bahrain’s efforts to advance GCC tourism
integration, unify regional promotion strategies, and present the Gulf as a
single, world-class tourism destination.
She also emphasised launching innovative
tourism packages and joint marketing initiatives to boost intra-GCC tourism.
Minister Al Khateeb commended Bahrain’s achievements in developing tourism
infrastructure and hosting major international events, noting the strong
coordination between the two countries in implementing initiatives and projects
to enhance the Gulf tourism sector.
