The Red Sea EDITION is located along a kilometre of private beachfront

EDITION Hotels, the luxury lifestyle brand, has marked a significant milestone for Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning tourism sector with the opening of The Red Sea EDITION. The resort is the premiere hotel to launch on the pristine Shura Island, positioning itself at the forefront of the country's visionary roadmap for luxury tourism.

This opening represents EDITION's second property in Saudi Arabia, following its successful debut in Jeddah last year. The brand is renowned for redefining traditional luxury by crafting highly personalised spaces attuned to their environment.

The Red Sea EDITION is located along a kilometre of private beachfront, offering uninterrupted views across the Red Sea’s turquoise waters and the lush greenery of Shura Links, Saudi Arabia’s first 18-hole island golf course, designed by Brian Curley. Shura Island will eventually house 11 world-class resorts, marinas, and entertainment facilities, central to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goal of becoming a global hub for luxury and regenerative tourism.

The resort represents an exceptional collaboration between Marriott International, EDITION Hotels, and Red Sea Global (RSG), the pioneering developer focused on balancing ecological protection with world-class guest experiences. The property’s infrastructure is 100 per cent solar-powered, underscoring its integration within one of the world’s most ecologically ambitious hospitality projects.

Guests arrive via the Red Sea International Airport, followed by a scenic desert drive leading to Saudi Arabia’s longest internal bridge, which links the mainland to Shura Island. The hotel unfolds as a series of low stone and wooden pavilions, featuring 240 elegantly designed guest rooms, including 53 one- and two-bedroom suites, outdoor pools, a spa, and signature restaurants.

The design, conceived by Rockwell Group, reflects a continuous dialogue between rock, sand, and sea. The architecture incorporates warm rammed earth, natural oak, and coral stone floors, mirroring the rugged majesty of the Saudi deserts. A strong sense of refined simplicity and style pervades the property, with the lobby serving as the lively beating heart, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that invite the sea breeze to flow freely.

The Red Sea EDITION introduces a new chapter in destination dining, with a culinary programme inspired by global traditions, local influences, and a wellness-forward approach. Menus reflect the healing energy of the sea, featuring seasonal ingredients and clean preparations that support immunity and vitality.
