'Over the last 18 months, tourism has experienced a renewed resurgence in the UAE,' said Michael Zager, vice president managed operations, Wyndham Hotel Group Europe, Middle East and Africa and cluster general manager for the Ramada Plaza Jumeirah Beach Residence and Ramada Sharjah. 'With over nine million visitors to Dubai alone last year, there is certainly demand for high quality, affordable accommodation such as that offered by the Ramada brand.'

Zager added, 'With six Ramada hotels already open throughout the Emirates, including the well-established Ramada Sharjah, we were already well placed to serve the needs of guests within the region. Our decision to introduce the Ramada Plaza brand to the vibrant and emerging area of Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai further strengthens our position. It also demonstrates our understanding of what discerning guests to the region are seeking, namely proximity to leisure and business hubs, in-room conveniences and exemplary service. We look forward to continuing to grow the Ramada brand in the region both through franchise and management contracts.'
