KUWAIT’S National Air Services (NAS) is working on two new services to improve the travel experience, says a company spokesman.
These include a commercially important passenger lounge, and an e-gate visa entry system.
In addition to being the leading airline ground handling company at the airport, NAS also offers a selection of innovative products aimed at making the passenger’s travel journey stress-free and memorable.
“In the last three years, National Aviation Services (NAS) has changed the face of travel-related services at Kuwait International Airport,” says the spokesman.
“NAS has introduced the innovative Hala Kuwait Service, a meet-and-assist service that adds a touch of class to passengers’ travel experience,” says the spokesman. The service includes a completely guided journey though the airport with an escort that helps passengers with check-in, immigration and boarding for departing passengers and visa and baggage assistance up on arrival. These could also be complimented by a presentation of a bouquet of flowers and a limousine.
“The Pearl Lounge, a journey into luxury, located on the upper level of airside departures present an elegantly decorated executive lounge and features superior design and comfort levels available to members and executives,” he says. The Lounge is entirely WiFi-enabled and other facilities include a full shower room, massage, 24-hour menu, conference room, business centre and children’s play area.
NAS will also add a CIP (Commercially Important Passenger) Lounge to its product suite in February of 2007 with the aim of catering to VIP travellers that want minimum waiting time at the airport. “Passengers using this facility will be offered security, instant check-in, baggage and immigration services all within the confines of the lounge thus relegating the need to step into the airport terminal,” says the spokesman.
NAS has also begun developing a platform for the e-gate visa entry system wherein arriving passengers registered within the system will be able to obtain visas on arrival by authenticating a smart card, he says. This is being developed to add value to its existing online visa website and the visa counters in the transit area of the KIA presently being manned by NAS.
