The Kingdom of Bahrain is set to take centre stage for the global meetings and incentives industry as it prepares to host the 93rd UFI Global Congress for the first time. Scheduled to take place from November 2–5, 2026, the flagship event will be co-hosted by Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA).
As a cornerstone industry event, the UFI Global Congress brings together hundreds of thought leaders and decision-makers from across the world to connect, share insights, and explore the trends shaping the future of exhibitions.
The choice of location carries significant weight this year. The UFI Leadership noted that they have been monitoring the situation in the Middle East for some time.
Following a thorough review at executive committee and board meetings earlier this month, the organisation chose to move forward with the launch in line with UFI's purpose to unite the global community - a decision they state reflects the deep confidence and resilience of the industry, its members, and its regional hosts.
The 93rd edition will offer international delegates a unique opportunity to see first-hand the region’s fast-growing exhibition landscape and connect directly with key players from across the Middle East and beyond.
“We look forward to hosting the UFI Global Congress in Bahrain for the first time and welcoming UFI delegates to the Kingdom," said Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Chairperson of Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB). "This reflects Bahrain’s continued commitment to the global exhibitions and business events industry, and our focus on delivering an exceptional congress at Exhibition World Bahrain.”
Chris Skeith OBE, CEO and Managing Director of UFI, shared the enthusiasm for the venue selection: “Each year, the UFI Global Congress brings together the people and ideas that are shaping the future of our industry.
We are excited to welcome the global exhibitions community to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the 93rd edition, where delegates will have the opportunity to network, learn, and be inspired in one of the region’s most dynamic and forward-looking destinations.”
The formal event pipeline is now live for all UFI members, inviting more than 50,000 industry professionals across its member companies - including the world’s leading exhibition organisers, venues, and service providers - to secure their presence at this historic regional gathering.
