Marriott in Mauritius goes big on family fun

Marriott in Mauritius is inviting sun seekers looking for a slice of island paradise for the whole family to its three luxury hotels: JW Marriott Mauritius Resort, The Westin Turtle Resort & Spa and Le Méridien Ill Maurice.

Mathieu de Tonnac, Cluster General Manager, Marriott Mauritius, tells TTN, “Mauritius, a tropical paradise and one of the most beautiful islands on earth, is also one of the most child-friendly destinations. It offers the whole family a wealth of memorable experiences; not only with the endless playgrounds in the form of pristine beaches around the island, but also because our three Marriott properties in Mauritius offer a family-oriented journey with indoor-outdoor kids clubs, games rooms for the teens and activities to be enjoyed with the whole family. Being a beach retreat, the watersports are not to be missed. All three resorts have well-equipped watersports centres with complimentary activities to be enjoyed, such as pedal boats, kayaks, stand-up paddles, and many more.

“Adding to this, the Mauritian generosity, warm hospitality and attention to detail say it all when it comes to looking after your younger and older ones … ensuring everyone has a relaxing, fun-filled getaway! Your perfect family vacation awaits you at our resorts,” promises de Tonnac.

 FAMILY BY JW

The family programme at the JW Marriott Mauritius Resort, Family by JW, is built around the principles of mindfulness. It doesn’t just provide plenty of entertainment for younger guests but also a wide range of experiences to be enjoyed as a family, allowing parents and kids to reconnect and share precious moments together.

The Kite Flyers Club boasts a swimming pool, playground, large sand pit and activity room and a packed weekly rota of discovery and fun for those aged 4 to 12.

From arts and crafts to cooking classes to horse riding and water sports to movie sessions and star gazing, there are also plenty of ways for kids to connect with the spectacular nature and culture of Mauritius. They can explore the lagoon on a glass bottom boat, take part in island crafts, plant trees and listen to local stories in ways that will immerse them in a whole new magical world.

WESTIN FAMILY KIDS CLUB

From the moment they arrive at The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa Mauritius, children are made to feel special, with a package of small gifts awaiting them in their rooms, and a Travel Journal ready to document their adventures. The Westin Family Kids Club is nestled among tropical gardens and offers experiences for children aged 4 to 12, with a specially curated programme designed to help younger guests make wonderful memories.

There is plenty for families to do together too, delightful moments for all ages to share, like movie nights and sandcastle competitions, to name just a few. Campfire night is a firm family favourite – as the sun goes down, everyone gathers around the fire to toast marshmallows and listen to Mauritian folktales.

Parents’ Night Off is the perfect antidote to parental fatigue.

LE MÉRIDIEN FAMILY KIDS CLUB

On arrival at Le Méridien Ile Maurice, each child receives a welcome gift and a kid’s passport, the ticket to their Mauritian adventure. While the resort is full of treasures to discover, the Le Méridien Family Kids Club is something special.

Housed in an indoor/outdoor secure playground, children aged 4 to 12 can take part in an exciting array of experiences. The play spaces promote the ‘universal language of play’, allowing young guests to explore, learn, develop and express ideas through three Filters of Discovery – Coordinates, Culture and Cuisine, with activities like origami, storytelling, cooking, water polo and bingo parties.

A particularly popular activity for all the family is a collaboration with l’Aventure du Sucre which not only uncovers some of Mauritius’ history but allows those of all ages to dabble in the art of sugar making.
