11 new tourism projects signed in Oman

Oman's Ministry of Tourism has signed a number of contracts with investors for 11 new tourism projects in the Sultanate as part of efforts to promote investment in its tourism sector.

Oman's Ministry of Tourism has signed a number of contracts with investors for 11 new tourism projects in the sultanate.

The massive investments are for the establishment of hotels, hotel apartments, tourist resorts, and camps as well as restaurants in various governorates of the sultanate, the ministry said in a statement.

Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mshrazi, minister of Tourism signed the agreements on behalf of the government of the sultanate.

The new projects signed in Oman include a tourism investment project in wilayat Seeb of Muscat governorate;  a three-star hotel and a three-star tourist resort in the Musandam governorate; a three-star hotel and a restaurant complex in the South Al Bathinah governorate; two tourist camps in the North Al Sharqiyah governorate; a three-star tourist resort and a tourist restaurant in Al Dakhliyah governorate; a two-star hotel and hotel apartments in the Dhofar governorate; a three-star hotel in the North Al Bathinah governorate; and a tourism resort in Muscat.

The new projects are expected to increase tourism facilities and services to cope up with the requirements of the economic developments of the country and diversify sources of national income as aspired by the government, the statement said. - TradeArabia News Service
