
flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier, inaugurated its operations to Syria with the resumption of flights to Damascus last month. The inaugural flight, FZ 115, touched down at Damascus International Airport (DAM) on June 1 to a traditional water cannon salute. This marks flydubai as the first UAE carrier to resume commercial flights to Syria, reestablishing a key air link between the two countries.
The inaugural flight marks the return of air connectivity between the two countries after almost after 12 years. flydubai has resumed daily flights to Damascus International Airport (DAM) starting June 1, 2025. The flights operate from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Flight FZ 115 departs DXB at 06:30 and arrives in Damascus at 08:45. The return flight, FZ 116, departs Damascus at 10:00 and arrives back in Dubai at 14:20. Subject to government approvals, Emirates is set to reintroduce flights to Damascus from this month – July 16. The airline will initially start with three weekly services on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, with plans to expand to four weekly flights from 2 August with an additional flight on Saturday. Emirates will expand its Damascus services to daily operations, effective October 26. Emirates’ services to Damascus will operate with a 302-seater Boeing 777-200LR and is planned to depart Dubai as EK 913 at 1200hrs, arriving in Damascus International Airport at 1410hrs local time. The return flight, EK 914 will depart Damascus at 1630hrs, arriving in Dubai at 2030hrs local time as part of the airline’s summer schedule.
