Arcapita Group Holdings, a leading global alternative investment firm, has announced plans to invest an additional $1.5 billion in industrial and logistics real estate across the GCC over the next 24 months, building on its existing over $2 billion in assets under management in the sector.
The planned investment reinforces Arcapita’s confidence in the region’s long-term economic growth and attractiveness as an investment destination, said senior company officials on the sidelines of the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum 2026, hosted by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) in capital Manama. The investment programme will focus primarily on the development and acquisition of high-quality industrial and logistics assets across key GCC markets, with a particular emphasis on build-to-suit developments designed around the operational requirements of leading regional and international occupiers. The strategy will be supported by Lintara Properties, Arcapita’s dedicated industrial and logistics real estate development and asset management platform.Unveiling the big investment plans, CEO Hisham Al Raee said: "We remain confident in the long-term growth prospects of the GCC and see significant opportunities emerging as economies across the region continue to diversify and invest in new industries, infrastructure and supply chains.""Our planned investment of an additional $1.5 billion over the next 24 months reflects that conviction and will build on the strong momentum we have established across our regional real estate business," he stated.Arcapita’s plans build on a period of significant activity across its real estate platform in the Middle East and North Africa. During 2026, the Bahrain-headquartered company commenced construction of the 1.4 million-sq-m ASMO logistics hub at King Salman Energy Park (Spark) in Saudi Arabia, completed a 30,000-sq-m purpose-built logistics facility for DSV in Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), and broke ground on a further 20,000 sq m Grade A logistics centre for DP World in Jafza.Isa Al Khalifa, the Managing Director, Head of Mena Real Estate at Arcapita and CEO of Lintara Properties, said: "The industrial and logistics sector has demonstrated remarkable resilience over recent years, evolving to serve new industries and emerging demands, and establishing itself as a key pillar of economic growth across the GCC.""The growing emphasis on supply chain resilience, regional self-sufficiency and operational redundancy is further accelerating demand for modern industrial and logistics infrastructure, as businesses look to strengthen their supply chains and ensure continuity of operations. At the same time, the supply of modern, institutional-quality facilities remains limited in several GCC markets, creating significant opportunities to address this gap through high-quality, purpose-built developments that meet the evolving operational requirements of leading regional and international businesses," he stated.Launched in October last year, Lintara Properties oversees more than $2 billion of assets and manages 6.6 million sq ft across 32 properties in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, said Arcapita in its statement. The platform combines Arcapita’s investment, structuring and asset management expertise with specialised development capabilities, providing end-to-end real estate solutions for leading regional and international occupiers. Lintara will play a central role in originating, developing and managing new assets under Arcapita’s planned $1.5 billion regional investment program, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
