Aman has unveiled Amanolu, its first destination in the Maldives, set in the secluded Vaavu Atoll and scheduled to open in 2028.
The 52-key resort will also feature 16 branded
residences, introducing the luxury hospitality group’s
signature focus on privacy, simplicity and connection with
nature to the archipelago.
The name Amanolu combines “Aman,” the Sanskrit
word for peace, with “Olu,” inspired by the water lily, a symbol
of serenity, renewal and harmony with nature.
Designed by longtime Aman collaborator Kerry Hill
Architects, Amanolu will draw inspiration from the Maldives’ white
coralline beaches, turquoise lagoons and surrounding seascape.
Its architecture is intended to blur the
boundaries between indoor and outdoor living.
Each of the 16 Aman Residences will
occupy its own private island and feature five bedrooms,
expansive living areas, a 25-metre swimming pool and a
personal berth.
Some homes will offer sunrise or sunset views,
while others will stretch from coast to coast with beaches on
both sides.
The resort will include a dedicated wellness
island featuring an Aman Spa and signature Spa Houses, alongside
an activity island offering diving, snorkelling, watersports and
marine exploration.
Multiple dining venues, family facilities and communal
spaces will complement the guest experience. -TTN
