Al-Khobar Governorate in Saudi Arabia has overseen the signing of several agreements and major projects valued at more than SAR 7 billion ($1.8 billion) for the development of integrated tourism destinations during the TOURISE 2025 Summit in Riyadh.
Governor of Eastern Region Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz emphasised that
Eastern Region is one of the Kingdom’s leading tourist destinations, endowed
with rich natural, marine, cultural, and economic assets, stretching from its
captivating Arabian Gulf coastline to its vibrant, historically rich cities, reported SPA.
Among the projects announced was the
establishment of the Al-Khobar pier project fund, which aims to transform
Al-Khobar pier into one of the Kingdom’s most dynamic and promising tourism
hubs.
Spanning 671,000 square meters with an
850-meter waterfront, the project is envisioned as a comprehensive tourism and
leisure destination.
It will feature a range of hotels and resorts offering more than 1,450 rooms
and suites, alongside residential units developed in partnership with renowned
international hotel brands.
These additions are expected to significantly expand accommodation capacity and enhance the region's tourism appeal.
The project will also stimulate tourism spending and attract both local and
international private investments, in alignment with the Kingdom’s goals to
advance the tourism sector, elevate quality of life, and strengthen its
standing as a premier global tourism destination.
