Salalah Airport
received the first direct flight of Belarusian airline Belavia, connecting
Salalah Airport with Minsk International Airport in Belarus.
The new flight, which
will operate once a week, is part of Oman Airports' efforts to enhance direct
air links between the Sultanate of Oman and a number of tourist destinations in
Eastern Europe.
The resumption of
these flights comes within the framework of the growing relations between the
Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus, which are witnessing rapid
development at various levels, especially after the official visit of His
Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Republic of Belarus recently.
The visit contributed
to opening wider horizons for bilateral cooperation in the economic, tourism
and investment fields.
Oman Airports affirmed
that the resumption of these direct flights is a qualitative addition to the
air connectivity network and enhances the status of Dhofar Governorate as a
global tourist destination, especially during the Khareef season, which witnesses
an increasing influx of visitors from various countries around the world.
This cooperation also
reflects European airlines' interest in expanding their destinations to the
Sultanate of Oman, given its unique tourism and natural resources.
