King Fahd International Airport in Dammam has achieved a new milestone by joining the ranks of leading global airports accredited with Level 1 Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation from Airports Council International (ACI), becoming the first airport in Saudi Arabia to receive this recognition.

This achievement reflects Dammam Airports Company’s commitment to ensuring that airport facilities meet the highest international standards and provide a seamless and inclusive travel experience for all passengers, including the elderly and persons with disabilities, reported SPA.

The ACI Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation is one of the most prestigious international recognitions granted to airports that implement best practices in promoting universal accessibility, in line with global operational standards adopted by major international airports.

This international accreditation comes as King Fahd International Airport continues to experience rapid growth in air traffic, having received more than 10 million passengers on over 80,000 international and domestic flights from January through September 2025, underscoring its growing status as one of the Kingdom’s most important air gateways.
