Thrifty Car Rental, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, has appointed Mohammed Al-Rashed as general manger to lead the expansion of its operations in Kuwait.

Al-Rashed, a Kuwaiti national, will have the key role of driving the establishment of the Thrifty brand in Kuwait by overseeing the overall marketing and activities of the firm, maximising profitability, forecasting operational performance results, as well as identifying and coordinating strategic business opportunities in the country.

“Thrifty’s expansion in Kuwait is fast and simultaneous; we have increased our locations, services, and fleet,” said Sam Eltibi, executive director, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group.

Al-Rashed maintains that Thrifty’s business has been climbing since October.

“We have witnessed an increase in both corporate and leisure clients. The Thrifty brand has exceptional offerings for visitors and residents of Kuwait,” he said.

Thrifty Kuwait recently added two locations in the Palm Beach Hotel and the Al-Ghanim Service Centre, bringing the total number of Thrifty locations in Kuwait to four, including the counters in the Kuwait International Airport and the downtown area. This has led to an increase in fleet size of 10 per cent.

Thrifty has also increased its service offerings in Kuwait by adding GPS, car-with-driver, child car seats and 30-minute maintenance to its portfolio.

To celebrate the new locations, Thrifty is offering up to 15 per cent off car rentals in Kuwait and special offers to Palm Beach hotel guests.
