Singapore extends racy promotion
August 2009 1459

SCHOOL holidays in many Gulf countries have been prolonged due to Ramadan, and as a result many promotions in Singapore have been extended well into September.
The Singapore Tourism Board and Emirates Holidays current holiday offers will continue until September 20. John Felix, senior vice president, Emirates Holidays said, “Some of the offers include a stay for four nights, pay for three deal at the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort, and great rates for the iconic Raffles Hotel.”
The joint holiday promotion for Middle East travellers visiting Singapore provides guests with great value deals to experience the city-state’s latest tourism events and attractions.
Highlight of the month is the 2009 Singapore Grand Prix and the Formula One race from September 25 to 27, during which time concerts, outdoor exhibitions and other lifestyle events will be taking place.
The five-star Mandarin Oriental has a ‘race extravagance’ room package, which requires guests to stay a minimum of three nights, and is available only during the three days of the Formula 1 race. The hotel lies in the heart of the circuit, within walking distance of the pit building and just before the action at turns 16 and 17.
Priced at $9,999, the package includes three nights accommodation in a premier suite, round-trip transfers by Mercedes Benz limousine, two entrance tickets to the Formula 1 pit grandstand, complimentary champagne breakfast, a welcome bottle of Dom Perignon champagne, a 90-minute massage at the Oriental Spa for two people and a six course set dinner inclusive of one bottle of premium wine for two, created by Michelin starred chef Marco Pedrelli at Dolce Vita.
The hotel has 527 refurbished rooms and suites, plus extensive meeting and banqueting facilities, and five restaurants.
The 400-room Fullerton Hotel Singapore, which also sits trackside, is offering its customers a special weekend too - those staying here for a minimum of three nights during the tournament will have access to the hotel’s dedicated champagne and cocktail lounge on qualifying and race day, and those staying in suites will be able to see the action from  the hotel’s private rooftop. This offer starts from $1,000 per room, per night, for a minimum of three nights stay from September 25 to 27 on a B&B basis. Prices for quay rooms and suites start from $3,500.
