HBX Group, a leader in the travel technology sector, has published its Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) Policy, which sets out a strategic framework designed to gain greater control over the environmental and social impact of its value chain. This policy, which applies to all HBX Group entities and partners, aims to minimise both the direct and indirect impact of its operations in ESG terms and to make travel a driver of sustainable growth.

HBX Group has formally signed its adherence to the United Nations Global Compact, aligning its actions with fundamental principles on human rights labour standards the environment and anti-corruption.

The policy identifies the most relevant ESG topics for the company’s success and its stakeholders, including carbon emissions reduction and responsible resource management in the environmental sphere, employee well-being and positive contribution to local communities in the social sphere and the promotion of strong corporate governance and data security in governance.

Low-carbon future

HBX Group's environmental strategy is aligned with the Paris Agreement, aiming to transition towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy. The company is already carbon neutral in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and is actively working on a Decarbonisation Plan to further reduce its direct and indirect emissions. This effort is bolstered by a commitment to fostering an effective energy transition through renewable energy and efficiency enhancements.

HBX Group’s environmental strategy is aligned with the Paris Agreement, aiming to transition towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy. The company is already carbon neutral in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and is actively working on a Decarbonisation Plan to further reduce both its direct and indirect emissions. This effort is supported by a strong commitment to driving an effective energy transition through renewable energy and efficiency improvements.

The group assesses its environmental impact by calculating emissions from Scope 1 and 2, as well as selected categories of Scope 3, such as water and energy consumption, waste generation and corporate travel. It is currently working on incorporating additional Scope 3 categories to gain a more accurate and comprehensive picture of its carbon footprint, which will enable the development of a more realistic and targeted decarbonisation plan. In terms of emissions offsetting, HBX Group carries out compensation through two main initiatives: tree planting in its own corporate forest and participation in projects supported by the United Nations Global Compact.

Through its Sustainable Travel Programme, HBX Group aims to expand its portfolio of sustainable products, support ESG certifications, and drive sector-wide sustainability improvements. The company also operates the Sustainability Hub, a virtual community designed to support small and medium-sized partners on their sustainability journey.

Empowering communities

A key pillar of the policy is a commitment to fostering a positive and fair workplace. HBX Group promotes stable and high-quality relationships with its employees, ensuring respect for human rights and providing a supportive environment across all its operating countries. As of 2025, the group employed over 3,600 individuals from 89 nationalities, with women making up 56% of the workforce and 50% of leadership positions.

The company actively promotes continuous professional and personal development through its learning platform, Uni and a mentoring programme. Employee wellbeing is a priority, with initiatives focused on mental, physical, financial and social health.

All employees are allocated eight hours per year to volunteer and the company offers a "Work From Anywhere" programme and a hybrid work model to support work-life balance.

Beyond its workforce, HBX Group is dedicated to making a positive impact on local communities.

The Think Big project focuses on mentoring rural communities to develop sustainable tourism micro-destinations and preserve local ecosystems, culture and traditions.

Governance commitments

HBX Group is driving excellence in corporate governance and compliance. The company has established a comprehensive framework for managing sustainability, progressively integrating ESG risks into its traditional risk management processes. In addition, a new reporting framework has been developed to respond to emerging regulatory and stakeholder requirements including the European CSRD regulation sustainability ratings such as EcoVadis and the United Nations Global Compact progress report among others, a code of conduct for employees and collaborators and a system for evaluating risks.

The group's innovation strategy, led by its TravelTech Lab, focuses on agility and efficiency to develop services that help improve sustainability practices in the travel sector. This includes open innovation programmes with startups and universities.

HBX Group's ESG strategy is reviewed annually by its Executive Committee and approved by its Board of Directors, ensuring accountability and a transversal approach across the entire organization. The policy and its annual results are disclosed publicly on the corporate website, with investors also kept informed through regular engagement.

Collaboration is key

HBX Group's ESG mission is not a solo effort. The company actively encourages its stakeholders - including clients, suppliers and partners - to be aware of their own carbon footprint and to promote inclusive, sustainable and compliant practices. Through initiatives like the Partnership Programme, HBX Group seeks to unite efforts among all stakeholders to make the tourism sector a force for good.
