This world-class performance is part of the celebrated 2025 China–Saudi Arabia Cultural Year, commemorating the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. It will be held at King Fahd Cultural Center, Riyadh.
Carmen, a four-act masterpiece by French composer Georges Bizet, premiered in 1875 and has since become one of the most frequently performed operas globally. The storyline centres on the passionate and turbulent romance between the free spirited gypsy woman Carmen and the soldier Don José, exploring themes of freedom, fate, jealousy, and betrayal.
Directed and produced by CNOH, this first-time performance demonstrates RCRC’s ongoing commitment to enriching Riyadh’s art & culture offerings, through a series of world-class events, featuring both classical and contemporary pieces, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
