Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka has launched Her Influence: Manga Projections, a visual tribute to influential Saudi women shaping the present and future across diverse sectors.
Their stories are brought to life in Manga style, projected onto the Courtyard walls of the pavilion.
The projections tell the stories of influential Saudi women through illustrated biographies that highlight key moments and pivotal turning points in their lives. As their journeys unfold across the five Courtyard walls of the Saudi Arabia Pavilion, in a visual format inspired by Japanese Manga, visitors are invited to look up, pause, and reflect. While each story is deeply personal and culturally rooted, the themes of resilience, ambition, and impact transcend borders.
The experience encourages the visitors of the pavilion to see beyond differences and recognise shared values. The Her Influence Manga Projections celebrates the contributions of Saudi women through a creative blend of visual storytelling and cultural exchange, said a statement.
Her Influence Manga Projections will feature the stories of three pioneering Saudi women:
* Rania Moualla, Founder and Chair, ZADK Saudi Culinary Academy;
* Mishaal Ashemimry, Aerospace Engineer and Founder of Mishaal Aerospace;
* Jomana Al-Rashid, Chief Executive Officer & Board Member at SRMG and Chairwoman of the Red Sea Film Foundation.
Her Influence: Manga Projections follows the opening chapter of the series: the Her Influence Photography Exhibition, held in June 2025 at Gallery East. This black-and-white portrait exhibition offered a quiet yet powerful reflection on the presence, strength, and individuality of eleven Saudi women.
This second chapter continues that visual storytelling through a different lens, animated Manga, bringing selected narratives into motion and cultural dialogue, ahead of a final panel session in October.
Her Influence comprises three chapters, a Photography Exhibition, a Manga Projection, and a Panel Discussion. It is part of over 700 events hosted by the Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
Visitors to the Saudi Pavilion can experience a wide range of Saudi culture, heritage, and art through various programs.
