Disney On Ice presents ‘Into The Magic’, an event combining the finesse of ice-skating with the familiarity of Disney characters, from August 12 until August 17 at Exhibition World Bahrain, Sakhir.

The nine-part production is being organised by Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) in co-operation with Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, as part of the Bahrain Summer Festival 2025.

A troupe of creative talents from Feld Entertainment, a world-renowned platform that has put up more than 3,500 shows in 80 countries, will bring to life beloved characters such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy as well as names from Disney’s most famous films Moana, Frozen, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Marigold and Coco.

“Disney On Ice is a nine-show programme but we’re looking into increasing the number of shows based on ticket sales,” BTEA business development and licensing directorate director Majeed Al Majid told TTN during a media tour on Wednesday (August 6).

“We’ve worked on a full-on programme for the summer festival, which includes multiple events. We started with the Bahrain Summer Toy Festival, which witnessed a record-breaking year on its second edition, and we are continuing with Disney On Ice.

“We're very excited to be hosting these kind of events and have seen a huge contribution from the private sector, which has been organising its own events and collaborating with us,” Al Majid added.

The tour featured a teaser show, offering attendees a glimpse into the excitement that awaits.

The show comes closely on the heels of the second edition of Bahrain Summer Toy Festival that ended on Tuesday  (August 5), and featured diverse games and famous characters from more than 20 leading global brands, including Barbie, Blippi, Hot Wheels, Marvel and Bluey.

This year’s event also introduced an artistic side with canvas and pottery painting activations, offering families a spectrum of entertainment.

“We’re really interested in staging family events and providing entertainment, particularly during summer,” said Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre chief executive Damian Bush.

“We've just finished with the Toy Festival, where we saw over 100,000 visitors, and are moving straight into Disney On Ice for which we expect a good and positive turnout.

“We’ve had an amazing response so far and the tickets are going really quick. It’s a brilliant show and well-priced for families to come down and enjoy – nine shows starting from BD8 – that's a very competitive price,” he added.

Feld Entertainment performer Katy Cunningham is thrilled to be visiting Bahrain with her troupe – her first time in the kingdom – and promised ‘so much fun for everyone’ at the Disney On Ice shows.

“You'll get to see so many different characters here. We have all different types of stories; favourites like Frozen and Moana, and some classics like Cinderella, which is my personal favourite, and Tangled, which is a fun segment to do.

Visitors can also meet so many different characters: Mickey and Minnie, Olaf, Maui, Moana.

“It's so great being able to bring Disney characters to life and bring it to people's home city,” she remarked.

Speaking of her experience in the kingdom so far, she said: “This is my first time in Bahrain and it is absolutely beautiful. I'm surprised I haven't been here before, but I would love to come back.”
