The team behind IMEX Frankfurt has unveiled a comprehensive education programme ahead of the major industry event taking place from May 20-22. With over 150 learning sessions planned, the programme aims to equip attendees with practical skills and insights relevant to the evolving meetings and events sector.
This year’s programme adopts a “person-centred” approach, acknowledging the increasingly blurred lines between personal and professional lives. The sessions are organised into nine tracks, allowing attendees to tailor their learning experience. Key themes and highlights include: Design Matters: A new track exploring the application of good design principles across various business areas, including events. A panel featuring IMEX’s Head of Design and a space experience design expert will discuss practical examples. Experiential Event Design: Led by Pigalle Tavakkoli, this track will delve into the art and science of creating impactful attendee experiences that go beyond traditional event formats. Event Logistics: A practical stream covering essential event planning fundamentals, including budgeting, negotiation, risk management and food and beverage trends. Impact: Aligning with IMEX’s Talking Point for 2025, these sessions will focus on designing events that generate lasting positive change for both people and the planet, exploring ESG, net zero and DEI. Leadership and Culture: Inspiring speakers, including a former combat helicopter pilot, will share their experiences in “extreme leadership” and navigating challenging circumstances. Marketing and Engagement: Communication expert Jose Ucar will lead a session on impactful communication for building stronger human connections, alongside other sessions on sponsorship and data analysis. Tech Innovation and AI: Futurist Henry Coutinho-Mason will explore non-obvious ways to design a people-first AI strategy within the business events sector. Trends and Research: Major industry players like AMEX, Cvent and Skift will present their latest research and insights into significant market shifts. Wellbeing: Addressing the growing concern of loneliness, the programme will feature “Tough Talks” providing safe spaces for honest discussions, alongside meditation and breathwork sessions in a dedicated well-being lounge.
