Travelers can now save their digital health certificates in the Lufthansa app and save time during check-in. All they have to do is save their digital vaccination certificate under "Personal data | Entry data" in the Lufthansa app. The health certificate is automatically verified during check-in and at the time of boarding pass issuance and does not need to be scanned or uploaded again for each check-in process.

The Lufthansa team has confirmed apart from the standard European Union Digital Covid-19 Certificate (EU DCC), health certificates that are compatible with the EU DCC standard such as the UK health certificate or Al Hosn in the UAE are also accepted by the app. Canadian and American Smart Health Cards are also accepted with smart health cards from other countries soon to follow.

The app also allows searching and booking flights, checking in on the go, saving boarding passes and accessing flight information – via smartphone, tablet or Apple Watch. The Lufthansa app’s interactive airport maps know all the important locations: from the check-in counter via the shops and play area through to your gate. In select airports, baggage belt information will also be provided via push notifications.

There are separate apps to reach customer service and for entertainment, with a range of films, music, audio books and more.
