Norwegian Prima sets sail this summer

Norwegian Prima, first of NCL’s six Prima Class vessels, will bring multiple first-at-seas surprises when it sets sail this August

Norwegian Cruis Line (NCL) is all set for the summer sailing of Norwegian Prima, the first of six next-generation ships within its all-new Prima Class.

Norwegian Prima boasts multiple first-at-sea innovations including a three-storey transformational theatre-nightclub, real-life gameshows, a three-level racetrack and fastest freefall drop dry slides. The vessel offers some of the highest staffing levels and space ratio of any new cruise ship in the contemporary and premium cruise categories.

While offering the largest variety of suite categories available at sea, Norwegian Prima will also boast a redefined The Haven by Norwegian, NCL's ultra-premium keycard-only access ship-within-a-ship concept. The Haven will feature an expansive sundeck, a stunning infinity pool overlooking the ship's wake and an outdoor spa with a glass-walled sauna and cold room.

When it first opened for sale last May, Norwegian Prima recorded the single-best booking day and best initial booking week sales in the company’s 54-year history.

Following a string of inaugural cruises and beginning August 2022, Norwegian Prima will be the newest ship embarking in Northern Europe. In August/September, she will sail a series of eight-day voyages from Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Copenhagen, Denmark, offering guests the opportunity to explore the continent’s Northern Europe, Norwegian Fjords and Baltic regions.

Norwegian Prima will then depart Southampton, England, on a 12-day transatlantic voyage visiting Lerwick, Scotland with an overnight in Reykjavik, Iceland, before arriving in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and ending her journey in New York to commence a five-day roundtrip itinerary on to Bermuda.

Norwegian Prima will conclude her inaugural year sailing bucket-list itineraries when it homeports in Port Canaveral, Florida. From December 11 to March 19, 2023, she will sail 15 roundtrip Western Caribbean voyages featuring five, seven, and nine-day port-rich itineraries visiting notable destinations, including Cozumel, Mexico; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, and NCL’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, in the Bahamas.

PROMOTIONS

While we eagerly await NCL’s first Prima Class ship, the brand is offering some grab or regret deals on some summer itineraries this year, including its Mediterranean, Greek Isles as well as Baltic sailings.

Nick Wilkinson, Regional Vice President Business Development, Middle East & Africa, tells our readers, “We have just launched our biggest promotion for the Middle East and the GCC markets: our “Buy 1st guest, Get a 2nd guest free” deal. Available on select sailings, it offers travellers booking a cruise the opportunity to take a travel companion for free.” Terms and conditions apply, and you also have to pay taxes and fees for the second person, but this essentially means couples/friends pay half the price for their cruise holiday.

The deal is applicable on seven-day Mediterranean itineraries out of Barcelona aboard Norwegian Epic and covering Italy, France and Spain (April to August 2022); seven-day Greek Isles from Athens Piraeus sailing to Santorini, Mykonos & Istanbul aboard Norwegian Jade (April to September 20220); and nine-day Baltic sailings from Copenhagen covering Germany, Russia, Sweden & Finland on Norwegian Getaway from May to September 2022.
