Neumann to head Rezidor team
The Rezidor Hotel Group announced the appointment of Wolfgang M. Neumann as president and chief executive officer, effective January 2013. Neumann currently serves as Rezidor’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. He succeeds Kurt Ritter, president and CEO since 1989, who is retires this year.

New GM at Ritz-Carlton Dubai
Raul Salcido has joined The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai team as its new general manager. He was previously GM at The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco. Salcido began his professional career at The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun, Mexico, in 1993 and worked for nine high profile hotel openings from the US and the Caribbean to China.

Kempinski Bahrain appoints Singh
Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre welcomes Puneet Singh as general manager. Singh moves from Kempinski Hotel The Dome in Belek, Turkey, where he was GM from 2010. Prior to that, he was with Kempinski Hotel Sanya and at Zamani Zanzibar Kempinski in Zanziba now known as Sol Melia.

Sakha joins Holiday Inn Dead Sea
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announced the appointment of Mazen Abu Sakha as the general manager of Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea. Sakha, brings over 30 years of hospitality experience working in several countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Jordan and Libya within various properties in the IHG family.

New Mice team at St Regis
The St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort’s has expanded its corporate team. Titus Rosier (left) joins the St Regis team as the new director of sales while Jeremy Canivet takes on the newly-created role of director of Groups and Events. Combined, they bring nearly 20 years of experience to the hotel.

The Wyndham Grand Regency Doha Hotel has appointed Tarek Shehata as the new director of sales and marketing. A B.SC degree holder, Shehata brings with him 20 years of experience in tourism and hospitality management field working with five starts hotels in Egypt, USA, Europe and GCC.

Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi has appointed Ferhad Zohny (left) as director of sales and marketing and Luis Soares as associate director of sales. More recently, Zohny was the director of sales at Yas Viceroy Hotel in the UAE while Soares moves from Hyatt Regency London –The Churchill where he was sales manager.

The InterContinental Aqaba Resort has appointed Bertrand Margerie as resident manager after transferring from Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea. Margerie was previously managing partner and director at La Maison hotel Thailand before joining Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea as hotel manager.

Carlson Rezidor announces new team
Rezidor Group has appointed Cornelia Erhardt (left) as general manager of the Radisson Royal Hotel, Dubai and Rabih El Zyr as director of sales and marketing for Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Downtown. Erhardt was previously GM of the Radisson Blu Resort in Fujairah, while El Zyr moves from Grand Excelsior Hotel, Kuwait.

Concorde Fujairah has appointed Mohsen Salem (left) as banquet manager and Ranjan Athukorala as assistant chief engineer. Salem has over 10 years of experience in F&B and will oversee operations of the events and functions while Athukorala is responsible for ensuring global engineering standards at the hotel.

Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa in Kuwait has appointed Stéphane de Robien as director of sales and marketing. Prior to joining Jumeirah, he was director of sales and marketing at Melia Zanzibar. De Robien started his career with Forte Hotels in Paris among other luxury resorts on the French Riviera.

After starting his career with the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai, Ghanim joined The Westin Dubai and Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina as assistant front office manager in 2011.
