SUN Resorts has announced its newest acquisition in Mauritius, the four-star Ambre Resort & Spa.
The Ambre hotel is located at Palmar on the East Coast of Mauritius, an hour from the airport and from the capital Port Louis and just 15 minutes from Ile aux Cerfs. The group will invest close to €10 million ($12 million) for a total renovation of the rooms and common areas, building a new swimming pool and bringing all the facilities up to international standards. The hotel is expected to open doors in October 2012. When open, guests will have access to 297 rooms refurbished in a fresh and contemporary style and facing the lagoon and a 700 m pristine white beach. In addition to the main restaurant Indigo, guests can dine at La Plage by the beach or the Italian Dolce Vita.
Facilities include a spa with treatment rooms and a hammam, the Kids Club for the younger children whilst older ones will find plenty to do with the Teenagers’ Club. Hotel guests can also take advantage of additional facilities at the nearby Long Beach and Le Touessrok hotels, including their restaurants and the amazing golf course on Ile aux Cerfs (including free green fees and shuttle transport).
This summer, Sun Resorts – which owns La Pirogue, Sugar Beach, Long Beach and Le Touessrok in the Mauritius and Kanuhura in The Maldives – have brought back two summer promotions.
