Kandooma Maldives has officially launched a new chapter, moving on from its previous identity as Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives after 17 years.
The South Malé Atoll resort has adopted a refreshed,
all-inclusive concept focused on family experiences, while retaining its
established island character and Maldivian hospitality.
The relaunch includes new accommodation options and expanded
private-pool offerings. Eight new Family Beach Pool Villas feature direct beach
access, private splash pools and dedicated children’s sleeping areas.
Pools have also been added to the resort’s two-bedroom Beach
Houses, while two three-bedroom Pool Villas cater to larger and
multi-generational families.
The new all-inclusive model extends beyond meals and drinks.
Guests staying four nights or more can access experiences
including a sunset splash cruise, sunrise fishing, guided reef snorkelling and
a 30-minute spa treatment.
Certified divers can also benefit from the Dive Free
programme, which includes one complimentary guided dive per day with standard
equipment, boat transfers and air/Nitrox fills.
“For us, all-inclusive was never going to be simply a meal
plan. We wanted it to change the way guests experience the island. A family
shouldn’t spend its holiday constantly deciding what something costs or whether
to add another experience. We want them out on the water, trying something new,
sitting down together over dinner, slowing down at the spa or discovering a
little more about the Maldives,” said Andrew Drummond, General Manager of
Kandooma Maldives.
“Kandooma has always had an incredible energy and
personality. This new chapter gives us the freedom to put that at the centre of
everything we do. We’ve taken many of the experiences people come to the
Maldives hoping to have and made them part of the Kandooma holiday from the
outset. That’s what experience-led all-inclusive means to us.”
The resort is organising its offering around five Kandooma
Signatures: Kandooma Blue, focused on marine activities; Kandooma Table,
centred on dining; Kandooma Flow, dedicated to wellness; Kandooma Social,
covering entertainment and gatherings; and Kandooma Ways, highlighting
Maldivian culture, nature and local experiences.
Kandooma Blue includes diving, reef snorkelling, fishing and
cruises, with the resort’s PADI 5-Star Dive Centre providing access to around
28 nearby dive sites.
Kandooma Table combines all-inclusive dining with beach
barbecues, sunset dinners and themed island nights, while Kandooma Café
operates around the clock.
A new Beach Club is also being introduced as an all-day
social space.
Wellness experiences under Kandooma Flow include Kandooma
Spa by COMO Shambhala, yoga, Pilates and sound healing.
Qualifying four-night stays include a choice of a 30-minute
back, neck and shoulder massage or foot massage.
Family facilities remain central to the resort. Kids Stay
and Eat Free continues, while Kandoo Kids’ Club caters to children aged four to
12 with supervised activities, arts and crafts, gaming, a splash zone and
waterslide.
Children can also participate in PADI Bubblemaker from age
eight and surf lessons with Perfect Wave.
“Families don’t necessarily want to do everything together
all day,” added Drummond. “A great family resort gives everyone room to have
their own holiday and then creates the moments that bring them back together.
That’s very much the Kandooma we have built.”
Located 35 kilometres south of Velana International Airport, around 45 minutes by speedboat, Kandooma Maldives features 146 villas across garden, beachfront and overwater settings. -TradeArabia News Service
