Air Canada, Virgin Australia and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have been named finalists for the World Aviation Festival’s Battle of the Airline Apps, taking place in Lisbon from October 13-15, 2026.
The competition will showcase how airline apps are enhancing
booking, check-in, in-flight engagement and loyalty.
Representatives from the three carriers will present their
digital strategies to an expert judging panel.
The competition is part of WAF 2026, which will feature 600
speakers across 16 conference tracks and bring together more than 4,500
aviation professionals.
“The real value of the competition lies in hearing airlines
explain their design choices and digital investments,” said Daniel Boyle,
General Manager of Transport at WAF organiser Terrapinn. “This year, three very
different carriers will put their mobile strategies before the judges, giving
attendees a closer look at some of the brightest approaches shaping how airlines
interact with their customers.” -TTN
