The luxury Velaa Private Island in Maldives will reopen to guests on September 15 after a summer-long renovation brings the resort back to life with a new look to public spaces, villas and the resort’s expansive leisure offerings.
 
A series of exciting events will mark the build up to the resort’s huge anniversary celebrations in December, marking nine years since its opening in one of the world's most idyllic destinations, located in the spectacular Noonu Atoll, the ultimate island escape.
 
From music to wellness, culinary to festivity, the Maldivian paradise will be welcoming guests throughout the coming months with a unique offering of events for all ages.
 
In October, structural integration therapist and practitioner, Thomas Andersen, will be visiting Velaa, offering specialist consultations and treatments for guests. Bringing his unique mode of healing known as Rolfing, he will be focusing on private sessions which address integrative scar rejuvenation work and bone realignment treatments.
 
To celebrate Halloween, a swarm of mythical fire-breathing dragons will be making their nest on the island, ready for a fun-packed family celebration.
 
Scottish songstress KT Tunstall, known for her unique brand of rock, will be performing in the breathtaking setting of Velaa’s Athiri Beach for an exciting new show on the resort’s shores.
 
Joining Velaa’s own talented Chef Gaushan, some of the world's top chefs will be visiting in the coming season to offer unforgettable ‘four hands’ dining experiences at the resort known for its culinary excellence. Visiting chefs include French master Maxime Gilbert, Jordy Navarra from the Philippines, and rising Asian star, Natsuko Shoji.
 
The year 2022 will culminate with a dazzling array of festive celebrations coinciding with the biggest anniversary celebration yet.
 
In addition to the exciting calendar of events, guests will soon be able to revel in the resort’s new beach bar and yoga and pilates studio, both of which will open in December.
