Etihad Airways will launch a new seasonal service between Abu Dhabi and Gothenburg, Sweden, from December 17, 2026. Operating four times weekly until March 21, 2027, the route will provide Gothenburg with its first direct air connection to Asia. Travellers will gain one-stop connections through Abu Dhabi to destinations across India and Asia, including Bangkok, Singapore, Bali, Shanghai, Taipei, Bengaluru and Colombo.
Gothenburg will become Etihad’s 15th new destination launched in 2026. The service will operate using an Airbus A321LR, featuring First Suites, Business Class seats with fully flat beds and Economy seating with 4K entertainment screens. High-speed Wi-Fi will also be available across all cabins.
The new route is expected to strengthen connectivity between western Sweden, the Middle East, India and Southeast Asia.
