Emirates, Qatar Airways operations stay suspended

Emirates airline said due to multiple regional airspace closures, it has temporarily suspended all operations to and from Dubai, up until 3pm UAE time on Monday, March 2. 

It said for passengers who have booked to travel before or on March 5, the below options are available:

* Rebook on an alternative flight. You can rebook on another flight to your intended destination up to 20 days from your original date of travel. If you booked your flight with a travel agent, contact them. If you booked with the airline directly, contact the airline. 

* Request for refund. You can request for a refund of your ticket by completing the refund form if you booked with Emirates directly. If you booked your flights with a travel agent, contact them.

* The airline urged all customers to check flight status before proceeding to the airport.

Customers impacted by flight cancellations must contact their travel agency for rebooking. If booked directly with Emirates, contact the airline.

Emirates said: "We are actively monitoring the situation and engaging with relevant authorities.

We apologise to customers affected by disruptions for any inconvenience caused. The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority."

Qatar Airways 

Meanwhile, Qatar​ Airways​ announced the​ temporary​ suspension​ of​ its​ flights​ to, and from, Doha due to the closure of Qatari airspace.

 The​ airline said in a press release that it is​ working​ closely​ with​ government​ stakeholders​ and​ the​ relevant​ authorities​ to​ support​ impacted passengers and will resume operations when the airspace re-opens.​

  The airline also expected delays to flight schedule once usual operations resume.   Qatar Airways​ said it had also​ deployed​ additional​ ground​ staff​ at​ Hamad​ International​ Airport​ and​ other​ key​ airports​ to​ assist affected passengers.​ 

Air India Express

Air India Express said the airline has extended the suspension of flights to and from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE until 23:59 hrs IST (18.29 hrs UTC) on March 2. 

Impacted guests are being notified directly through their registered contact details. Guests are advised to check their flight status on airindiaexpress.com and ensure their contact information is up to date. 

"To support guests who had booked travel to or from the Gulf region up to February 28, for journeys scheduled until March 5, we are offering the option to reschedule travel to a future date without any date-change fees, or cancel and get a full refund to the original mode of payment. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our guests during this time," said a company spokesman.

"For change and cancellation waivers, guests may manage their bookings at www.airindiaexpress.com/manage-booking or chat with Tia, our 24/7 AI-powered assistant, available on our website," he added.
