Dukes The Palm Dubai Hotel and NH Collection Dubai The Palm are taking a more heartfelt approach this Holy Month.
Now operating side by side within one hospitality complex on Palm
Jumeirah, the two hotels have launched a special Iftar initiative inspired
entirely by mothers’ homemade recipes, focusing on nostalgia, comfort, and
authentic family flavours rather than spectacle.
The concept is rooted in a simple truth: while luxury is abundant in
Dubai, the taste of home is rare — particularly for residents spending Ramadan
away from their families.
Instead of partnering with celebrity chefs, the hotels collaborated with
mothers from across the region, inviting them to share cherished dishes
traditionally prepared for loved ones.
Mothers from Jordan, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt worked closely with the
culinary teams to recreate generations-old family recipes in a hotel setting.
The resulting Iftar buffet features traditional favourites such as
Jordanian mansaf and maqlouba, Egyptian molokhia and koshari, Iraqi dolma, and
Syrian shish barak and baba ghanoug — all prepared using authentic, home-style
methods that celebrate the warmth and spirit of Ramadan.
“Far from being
about luxury or excess, this Iftar is about familiarity,” Chef Tamer AlNoty
said. “It is about recreating the feeling of sitting at a family table, even
when home is far away.” -TradeArabia News Service
