Türkiye is highlighting its Aegean and Mediterranean coastlines as destinations for “Blue Mind” travel, a concept centred on spending time near water to support relaxation and wellbeing.
The country’s traditional Blue Voyage offers travellers
opportunities to combine sailing with nature, cultural sites and local cuisine.
The journey can begin in İzmir, Çeşme and Alaçatı, where
visitors can sail between coastal bays and explore Aegean food and dining in
nearby Urla.
Bodrum, associated with the origins of Türkiye’s Blue Voyage
tradition, provides access to destinations including Gümüşlük, Bitez, Yalıkavak
and Göltürkbükü, as well as the Gulf of Gökova.
Travellers can swim and snorkel while also visiting sites
such as Bodrum Castle and the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus.
Further south, Datça and Marmaris offer coastal anchorages,
swimming spots and access to historical sites.
The route can continue to Göcek and Fethiye, where visitors
can explore islands, bays and locations including Ölüdeniz Lagoon. Nearby
attractions include the ancient city of Kaunos and İztuzu Beach, a nesting area
for loggerhead sea turtles.
The route can conclude around Kaş and Kekova in Antalya,
with opportunities for diving, sea kayaking and exploring coastal
archaeological sites, including the Sunken City.
The Blue Voyage combines sailing, outdoor activities,
cultural heritage and regional cuisine along Türkiye’s western and southern
coasts. -TTN
