The Spa... offers guests a personally curated experience

THE Viceroy Hotel Group is poised to open the Viceroy Maldives, which includes an exclusive spa, on April 2.  The intimate 61-villa island resort is set on the archipelago’s pristine Vagaru Island.

Each of the resort’s luxury beachfront or water villas are nestled on the white sand beachfront or set directly on the turquoise sea.  With private plunge pools, ensuite baths and generous outdoor areas, the villas allow for maximum privacy in picturesque settings.  The Viceroy Maldives feature some of the most spacious accommodations in the island archipelago, ranging from 1,300 sq feet to 3,000 sq feet.  The resort’s five dining options will offer everything from casual beachside cuisine to fine dining Italian fare.  Restaurant concepts will incorporate Asian and European influences, and private venues including an underground wine cellar will also be available for celebratory dining and chef’s table dinners.

The Spa at Viceroy Maldives will feature seven secluded over-water spa villas. Five of them will be designed with private changing areas, steam showers, private deck views and two treatment tables to accomplish any treatment required by our guests. There will be one Beauty Suite for nail and hair styling for those special evenings and nights. An exclusive Couple’s Private Suite will also be on offer with a private wet chamber complete with Vichy shower, a plunge pool for two and living area to unwind and relax pre-and post treatments; the perfect way for a couple to begin or end their spa journey together.

The Spa offers guests of Viceroy Maldives a personally curated experience designed to reconnect to their Essential Self – the person they are when they are free of the stresses, imbalances and toxins of daily life. The spa’s design perfectly reflects the serene environment that surrounds it with interiors that are reflective of the three predominant natural elements of the Maldives – water, sun and culture The treatments have been created around five major experiences; Syama – Anti-Aging, Sama – Sanctuary and Calm Mind, Sodhakana – Cleanse and Purify Your Being, Santi – Pure Spa, and Svathya – Sound State of Health, which encourage visitors to explore the emotion, feeling or physical goal they are looking to achieve in their spa visit.

The Spa menu also offers signature rituals such as the Viceroy Trilogy or Iconic Anti-Aging Facial where the entire body will be restored, renewed and brought to a place of profound peace. Similarly, the Svapnaya “Dreamtime Journey” is a complete body experience that includes a soothing body scrub to release all toxins followed by a full body massage and facial built around the power of mantras and designed to calm the nervous system, heal their chakras and restore the body’s magnetic field.  Lastly, the Sparsa “Touch, Feel” treatment re-awakens the body and spirit to promote a profound feeling of calm. Rose and Jasmine are the keynotes of this journey which begins with a blissful body scrub that prepares guests to receive the body balm massage that feeds the skin and the senses.

The Spa at Viceroy Maldives further embraces the full concept of wellness with a dedicated Spa Café and individual Yoga and Fitness Pavilions.  Vai, the Spa Café, will offer an organic and fresh alternative to the resort’s other dining options   with a menu of healthy, nutritional offerings incorporating flavours of the sub-continent and the west.  The resort is also partnering with the internationally acclaimed fitness company Techno Gym, to provide state-of-the-art fitness options for all guests. Lastly, the impressive spa will boast a boutique filled with products for home, bath and fashion featuring high-end designers and one-of-a-kind as well as beauty products like essential oils, yoga wear, music, books and more facial and body care from Spa partners Valmont and Ila.

“Extending the Viceroy brand across the world to the Maldives is a very exciting development for us,” says Nicholas Clayton, President of Viceroy Hotel Group.  “We look forward to welcoming our clientele to this breathtaking resort.”
