Qiddiya Investment Company has signed a five-year agreement with Golf Saudi to operate The National Golf Club at Qiddiya City, marking a strategic partnership aimed at expanding golf participation, developing Saudi talent and strengthening the Kingdom’s position as an international sports tourism destination.
Under the agreement, Golf Saudi will oversee the club’s
operations, including management of the golf course and facilities, organising
tournaments and events, overseeing golf activities and developing players.
The agreement was signed by Qiddiya Investment Company
Managing Director Abdullah Aldawood and Golf Saudi Chief Executive Officer Noah
Alireza.
Aldawood said the partnership would bring Qiddiya City’s
“Powered by Play” philosophy to life by making golf more accessible to players
of all abilities while creating opportunities to nurture local talent and
attract international visitors.
He added that the collaboration supports Saudi Arabia’s
ambitions to increase sports participation, promote healthier lifestyles and
improve quality of life in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Alireza described the addition of The National Golf Club to
Golf Saudi’s portfolio as a strategic milestone in the organisation’s expansion
as a golf facility operator. He said the partnership would combine operational
expertise and Saudi hospitality to enhance visitor experiences and develop the
venue’s potential to host major local and international tournaments.
Designed by golf legend Sir Nick Faldo, The National Golf
Club features an 18-hole course set against the natural landscape of the Tuwaiq
Mountains. Located approximately 45 kilometres from Riyadh, the facility
welcomes beginners and professional players without requiring membership.
Its distinctive layout comprises three six-hole loops,
allowing visitors to choose shorter or full rounds according to their schedules
and abilities. The club also offers practice and coaching facilities, beginner
programmes and plans for a future golf academy.
The facility forms part of Qiddiya City’s expanding sports,
entertainment and cultural destination, which is being developed around
accessibility, recreation and active lifestyles.
It joins a growing portfolio that includes Six Flags Qiddiya
City, which has opened, and the planned Aquarabia water park and PlayMaker
Studios. Other future developments include the National Tennis Centre, Speed
Park Track, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, a horse racing venue and
Qiddiya Performing Arts Centre.
Through the partnership, Qiddiya Investment Company and Golf Saudi aim to establish The National Golf Club as a leading sporting destination while contributing to the development of Saudi Arabia’s golf ecosystem and wider tourism sector. -TradeArabia News Service
