Jazeera Airways continues to invest in developing the next generation of aviation professionals as its second cohort of 11 cadet pilots prepares to commence training at BAA Training’s facilities in Lleida-Alguaire, Spain.

The new cohort marks another milestone in the airline’s commitment to building a sustainable pipeline of skilled pilots, including its first Kuwaiti female cadet pilot, reflecting its focus on creating greater opportunities for national talent in aviation.

Ayman Al Shammari, Chief Operating Officer, Jazeera Airways, said: “As Jazeera Airways accelerates its fleet and network expansion, developing a strong pipeline of skilled pilots is essential to our growth, safety and operational excellence. Through our partnership with BAA Training, we are equipping aspiring pilots with internationally recognised training and the capabilities needed for successful careers in aviation. We are particularly proud to welcome our first Kuwaiti female cadet pilot, marking an important milestone in creating greater opportunities for national talent. Alongside this, our investment in local training infrastructure, including our new ATO facility, will strengthen our in-house capabilities and support the development of homegrown aviation talent, contributing to Kuwait’s ambitions as a regional aviation hub.”

The new trainees follow the successful commencement of training of the airline’s first group of cadets in August 2026.

Currently undergoing an intensive 18-month Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) Integrated training program, including Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC), the first cohort is expected to complete its training in April 2028, paving the way for the next stage of their journey towards becoming qualified airline pilots.

Alongside its international training partnerships, Jazeera Airways is strengthening its in-house training capabilities through the development of a new Approved Training Organisation (ATO) facility in Kuwait.

The purpose-built facility will house a state-of-the-art full-flight simulator and advanced training infrastructure, enabling the airline to progressively conduct more pilot training locally, enhance operational readiness and reduce reliance on overseas training facilities.

These initiatives come as Jazeera Airways prepares for its next phase of growth, supported by an expanding fleet and destination network. With the airline recently welcoming the first of 26 new Airbus aircraft, with more joining the fleet soon, the demand for highly skilled and qualified pilots is expected to increase significantly in the coming years. Developing a strong pipeline of aviation talent is therefore central to supporting the airline’s long-term growth ambitions and operational excellence.

Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer, Jazeera Airways, said: “Jazeera Airways is all about Kuwait and driving growth, building capacity and onboarding talent in Kuwait. As we grow, we look forward to many more career opportunities in flying, engineering and corporate roles for the talented and hardworking youth of Kuwait.’ -TradeArabia News Service
