Jazeera Airways has welcomed the first cohort of participants to Ertiqaa, its management training programme, marking a key milestone in the airline’s efforts to develop national talent and prepare the next generation of aviation leaders in Kuwait.
The inaugural group
began its journey with a comprehensive orientation programme, including an
interactive session with the airline’s leadership team.
Participants had the
opportunity to engage directly with senior executives, learn about Jazeera
Airways’ vision, values and strategic priorities, and understand their role in
supporting the airline’s future growth.
Launched in August
2026, Ertiqaa', meaning elevation or advancement in Arabic, is an 18-month
management development initiative designed to identify and nurture
high-potential young Kuwaiti graduates.
The programme aims to
accelerate their professional development while supporting Jazeera Airways’
long-term expansion plans and contributing to Kuwait Vision 2035 through
investment in national human capital.
Barathan Pasupathi,
Chief Executive Officer, Jazeera Airways, said: “We are proud to welcome our
first cohort of Ertiqaa' management trainees to the Jazeera family. These young
graduates represent the ambition, energy and potential of Kuwait’s next generation,
and we are excited to be part of their professional journey. As Jazeera Airways
enters an exciting new phase of growth, investing in our people is just as
important as investing in new aircraft, destinations, and infrastructure.
Ertiqaa' is about creating opportunities for young Kuwaitis to learn,
contribute and develop into future leaders who will help shape the aviation
industry. I look forward to seeing this first cohort grow with us and make
their mark on Jazeera’s future.”
Over the 18-month
programme, trainees will benefit from cross-functional learning, practical
assignments, mentorship from experienced leaders and structured development
modules.
They will also gain
exposure to strategic business projects and different areas of airline
operations and management.
The training is
designed to build participants’ technical knowledge, commercial understanding
and leadership capabilities, equipping them with the skills required to work in
the increasingly complex aviation industry.
Ginny Sethi, Chief
People Officer, Jazeera Airways, said: “At Jazeera Airways, we believe that
investing in people today is key to building a stronger future. The launch of
our first Ertiqaa cohort marks an important step in our commitment to nurturing
Kuwaiti talent and developing the next generation of aviation leaders. As our
airline continues to grow, building a strong pipeline of homegrown talent will
be essential to our long-term success. Through Ertiqaa, we aim to inspire young
Kuwaitis to realize their potential, develop the confidence and capabilities to
take on leadership roles, and grow alongside Jazeera Airways. This is not just
an investment in individual careers, but in the future of our airline and
Kuwait’s aviation sector.”
The programme also
supports the airline’s wider strategy to encourage continuous learning,
innovation and internal career development.
By exposing
participants to different business functions and providing direct access to
senior leadership, Jazeera Airways aims to develop well-rounded professionals
capable of taking on future management responsibilities.
The initiative comes
as the airline continues to expand its fleet, route network and operational
capabilities, increasing the importance of developing a skilled workforce to
support its growth.
Through Ertiqaa',
Jazeera Airways aims to establish long-term career pathways for Kuwaiti
graduates, enabling them to gain practical industry experience and progress
into leadership positions within the company.
The onboarding of the
first cohort marks the beginning of the programme’s longer-term commitment to
strengthening national workforce development and supporting Kuwait’s aviation
sector.
By combining
structured training, practical experience and leadership mentorship, the
airline seeks to build a pipeline of homegrown talent aligned with its future
business needs and expansion ambitions. -TradeArabia News Service
