Sharjah steps up airport staffing amid rising passenger traffic

The Sharjah Executive Council has announced plans to recruit 150 passport control officers at Sharjah International Airport in three phases, starting next October. 

The plan aims to keep pace with the airport’s significant growth, the rise in flight and passenger numbers, and its expansion and development projects, reported Wam.

The announcement comes following the council's weekly meeting held under the chairmanship of HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah at the Ruler’s Office. It was also attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Council Vice Chairman along with other members.

The Council discussed a number of government work-related topics and reviewed the public policies of government departments and authorities to enhance the level of services provided to citizens and residents.
