UAE-based B2B cargo carrier SolitAir has expanded its African network with the launch of new services to Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and Hargeisa, Somaliland.

The routes, served through Port Harcourt International Airport and Egal International Airport respectively, mark the airline’s first direct operations in both markets.

The additions increase SolitAir’s African network to 20 destinations across 16 countries, strengthening links between the Gulf and some of Africa’s rapidly growing but historically underserved markets.

The expansion builds on the carrier’s East African hub in Nairobi and supports trade corridors across the continent.

Port Harcourt is a major cargo gateway serving Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, while Hargeisa provides access to a region reliant on reliable air freight for exports including livestock and time-sensitive agricultural products.

SolitAir’s global network now covers more than 60 destinations in over 35 countries across Asia, Africa and Europe.

The airline operates seven Boeing 737-800BCF freighters, each capable of carrying up to 20 tonnes, from its Dubai World Central hub.

With a target of 20 aircraft by the end of 2027, SolitAir says it will continue expanding in response to customer demand and emerging trade opportunities across Africa.

“Nigeria and Somaliland are important additions to our African network, giving us an opportunity to strengthen connections between the Gulf and these markets. As we continue to expand, we’re focused on identifying destinations where there is clear demand for reliable air cargo services and where we can add value to existing trade flows,” said Hamdi Osman, Founder and CEO of SolitAir.

“These routes were built around real customer demand. Port Harcourt and Hargeisa are good examples of how we’re developing the network – by looking at where our partners need to move cargo and building connections that support those trade flows,” he added. -TradeArabia News Service
