Dubai Airports has announced three senior leadership appointments to strengthen its technology, operations and national talent capabilities as it prepares for the next phase of growth at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).

Kan Ni has been promoted from Vice President of the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) to Senior Vice President of Airport Operations, while Khalid Ishaq moves from Head of AOCC Integration to Vice President of AOCC.

Ahmad Al Bastaki joins as Vice President of Technology Operations and Cybersecurity within the Business Technology division.

The appointments are aimed at enhancing leadership capabilities to support Dubai’s expanding aviation sector.

Kan Ni has played a key role in developing the AOCC into a data-driven operational hub that coordinates the daily movement of around 200,000 passengers through DXB.

He also led airport operations during recent regional airspace disruptions, helping maintain safe and efficient operations.

Khalid Ishaq, who joined Dubai Airports in 2005, brings nearly two decades of operational experience.

His promotion underscores the organisation’s commitment to developing Emirati talent, with nationals representing 75% of its management team.

Ahmad Al Bastaki will oversee cybersecurity, infrastructure and technology operations, strengthening digital resilience as airports increasingly rely on advanced technology systems.

Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports, said: “Our ability to deliver safely, efficiently and at scale depends on the strength of our people, the resilience of our systems and the way we work together as one airport community. These appointments reinforce the leadership capability we need for the future, combining specialist technology expertise, deep operational experience and strong Emirati talent in areas that are increasingly central to airport performance and resilience.” -TradeArabia News Service
