Kuwait Airways signed a strategic partnership agreement with Deema, a deferred payment provider, to launch a service that enables passengers to pay for their travel tickets in four equal instalments without any fees or additional charges, effective August 1.
Kuwait Airways Acting Chief Executive Officer, Captain
Abdulwahab Al-Shatti stated that the service allows customers to pay for travel
tickets in instalments, in addition to purchasing miles through the Oasis Club
loyalty program and benefitting from the services of Kuwait Airways Holidays
and other services provided by the company.
Al-Shatti added that the service will be launched in two
phases. Initially, it will be available through Kuwait Airways Sales Offices
and the Call Centre.
It will later be expanded to the company's official website
and mobile application.
He explained that the agreement marks the first partnership
between Kuwait Airways and Deema and reflects KAC’s commitment to enhancing
digital transformation by offering modern payment solutions that simplify the
booking procedures and improve the customer experience.
He affirmed that the national carrier remains committed to
advancing its digital transformation by enhancing its digital services and
introducing more innovative solutions that meet travellers’ evolving needs and
keep pace with the rapid developments in the aviation industry.
He pointed out that the deferred payment service provides
customers with greater flexibility in completing booking and payment processes
and represents an addition to the company’s digital services system, enhancing
ease of use and improving traveller satisfaction.
Al-Shatti stated that Kuwait Airways continues to expand its
partnerships with companies specializing in financial solutions and digital
technologies, supporting the development of its electronic services and
strengthening its position as a national carrier that provides advanced
services and an integrated travel experience within and outside the State of
Kuwait.
For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Deema, Abdulaziz
Bin Jassim said: “We are proud to
welcome Kuwait Airways, the national carrier of the State of Kuwait and one of
its most longstanding icons, to the Deema platform.”
“This is not merely a business partnership, but a pivotal
milestone in our journey. When the national carrier, with its rich history and
established position in the hearts of generations of Kuwaitis, places its trust
in our solutions, it serves as the clearest testament that Deema has become a
key pillar in Kuwait’s digital financial landscape. It also demonstrates that
innovative national solutions can serve as reliable partners for the largest
and most established institutions.”
Bin Jassim added: “Travel has always been a dream postponed
while waiting for the right budget, and today we are changing this equation.
Travelers can now book tickets to any of Kuwait Airways’ destinations and pay
the cost in four easy and equal instalments, without any additional charges or
hidden fees, through a seamless digital experience completed in less than a
minute. We are not simply providing a payment method; we are giving people the
freedom to travel on their own terms and redefining the relationship between travellers
and the decision to travel.”
Bin Jassim concluded: “This partnership represents an advanced model of integration between the aviation sector and digital financial services, an integration that we believe will shape the next phase of digital transformation in Kuwait. The travel sector is one of the sectors most closely linked to people’s lives and aspirations, and introducing flexible payment solutions will have a direct and tangible impact on thousands of families and travellers. We have ensured that this experience is developed in accordance with the highest standards of governance, security, and compliance, under the supervision of the Central Bank, in a manner that safeguards the rights of all parties and maintains customer confidence at every stage.” -TradeArabia News Service
