THE Anantata Spa at Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea catering for both local customers and international visitors, stretches over 10,000 sq m and as such is the largest and most advanced in the Middle East.
It is designed to combine tranquility with nature. Oxygen-rich air, mineral loaded sea water and mudpacks are among the favourite treatments of Anatatara, which bring together age old therapies such as Ayurveda as well as the most innovative treatments.
The spa includes the finest and freshest oils that are nutrient rich and luxuriously aromatic. The oils are of traditional beauty essences such as sandalwood, ylang-ylang, patchouli, mandarin, lavender, lemongrass, ginger, cinnamon, bergamot and natural volcanic pumice, sweet woods, yoghurt, cucumbers and well as others.
The spa’s soft opening took place in phases, starting in September and ending in December. “Within the coming week, we will be opening the outdoor area,” said spa director Patricia Collins.
“The spa is designed for people to come and enjoy, relax and spend quality time by using natural ingredients and Guinot products for facials,” says Collins.
The spa includes 20 treatment rooms, a large studio for Yoga, Thai Chi, meditation and pilates and several outdoor therapy lounges. There are 28 spa suites, a Moroccan hammam with traditional Moroccan treatment, outdoor and indoor Jacuzzi and steam rooms, Ayurveda treatments, Natural Dead Sea water pool, Asian therapies and local salt mud treatments.
“The outdoor area includes a “garden of sense” with lemon trees imported from Thailand,” said Collins.
A feature of the spa is its private Watsu pool, a combination of water and shiatsu (a very soothing type of massage that takes place in waist deep water), a hydro pool full of bubble seats and wall jets and panoramic creative lap pool that features star sky fiber optic lighting alongside heated beds for relaxation and meditation.
