THE Westin Jeddah now offers the WestinWorkout concept, says a spokesman.

“Gone are the days when guests checked in to a hotel and watched the kilos pile on – now WestinWorkout can help keep the weight off and the heart rate up while on the road.”
The upscale hotel brand, part of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts portfolio, is leading the way in offering hotel guests a service that allows them to maintain their fitness and exercise regime while away from home – whether for business or pleasure.
The stylish new fitness rooms are inspired by the services offered in upscale health clubs, which many Westin guests belong to. The WestinWorkout Gym features treadmills, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, steppers, elliptical trainers, as well as an extensive selection of strength equipment and Cardio Theatre, complete with personal viewing screens and sound systems on all cardio equipment. The WestinWorkout Room is an option for guests who prefer to work out in the privacy of their hotel room. Each room features an indoor cycle or treadmill, DVD Pilates programmes and a custom-designed fitness shelf that holds adjustable dumbbells, resistance tubing, a stability ball, yoga mat and medicine balls.
The Westin Jeddah Hotel & Suites opened its doors in the year 2000 to provide a high quality of personalized service to the Jeddah market. With its two magnificent towers on the north corniche overlooking the panoramic Red Sea, it offers unique city view and sea view rooms, various restaurants, health club facilities, open-air swimming pool, meeting rooms and banquet facilities.
The hotel conforms to Westin standards and seeks to constantly extend its market segments. “We have achieved around 80 per cent of our target in every area planned,” says the spokesman. “We established MICE business and group bookings targeting who are arriving to Jeddah market. We also focus on Hajj and Umrah group handlers in the market. Subsequently, we reached our budget figures for year 2005 including rooms and food and beverage.”
The hotel expects 2006 to be a challenge due to many new properties opening up this year, but it remains optimistic.
