An immersive exhibition titled, "The Second After – Private Luxury Trilogy" by The Italian Cultural Institute of Abu Dhabi is underway at the Italian Cultural Institute, Abu Dhabi. The exhibition will be open to the public until September 29 (Friday).

Experiential by design, the exhibition showcases a rebirth of Pompeii and Herculaneum, following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

It is organised and conceptualised by KIF Italia, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Abu Dhabi/Cultural Section of the Embassy of Italy to the UAE.

Ida Zilio-Grandi, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute Abu Dhabi, said at the start of the exhibition: “As we open the doors to ‘The Second After – Private Luxury Trilogy’ in Abu Dhabi, we embark on a journey of cultural exploration and discovery. This exhibition is a result of our commitment to fostering a connection through a shared love and appreciation for heritage".

KIF Italia has employed state-of-the-art technologies to create a multi-sensory experience to take visitors on a captivating journey through the story of Pompeii and Herculaneum before, during and after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

Giuliano Gasparotti, Artistic Director of KIF Italia said: “The artistic blend of visuals, sounds, and scents was integral to bringing to life this pivotal moment in time, in a way that articulates a very realistic interpretation of history and culture. This was the guiding light behind our creative direction and execution.”

Francesco Mazzei, Co-Director of KIF Italia said: "The idea is to enable the audience to step into a bubble suspended in time and perceive, with all their senses, the moments that preceded the eruption, and the dramatic moments that followed, and lastly the rediscovery of those places. This is supported largely by the excavations that have given us back the memory of that extraordinary era."

The curators partnered with renowned personalities from the worlds of music, art, and production to craft a truly unique exhibition. The celebrated maestro Furio Valitutti composed the music, inspired by the works "De Vitiis" and "De Musica" by ancient poet Philodemus of Gadara.

With the production entrusted to Federico Baciocchi and Valerio Ronzitti, KIF Italia collaborated with some of Italy’s finest artistic perfumers to create a fragrance exclusive to the exhibition.

The exhibition supports the broader vision of the Italian Cultural Institute of Abu Dhabi in strengthening the cultural bond between Italy and UAE.

Tracing the historic connection between ancient Rome and the Arabian Peninsula along the Silk Route, the exhibition seeks to introduce the Gulf audience to the timeless beauty of Italy and its exquisite Italian craftsmanship, said a statement. – TradeArabia News Service
