It is hard to say whether travel restrictions will still apply during Ramadan and Eid this year but it’s always better to be prepared with new ideas for your clients. (Ramadan is expected to start in the last week of April and consequently Eid will be last week of May.) From a luxury staycation in the UAE to a wellness break in the Far East or a jungle jaunt in East Africa, here are some ideas, all based on new hotel openings, extensions and rebranding:

Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, Monaco: Offering the ultimate Monte-Carlo experience, the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort in Monaco will unveil the brand-new Suite Eleven next month. “The experience we offer at Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort combines hotel services, food, night life, well-being and entertainment. More than just wealth, it’s a trademark that we are constantly developing to continue to surprise our demanding clientèle!”says Frédéric Darnet, Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort’s managing director “Suite Eleven offers a new high-end experience while offering the friendliness that our guests appreciate.” Suspended above the sea, on the 11th floor of the hotel, this suite with five-star services joins the Diamond Suites Collection of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Resort. With private elevator access to the fully reserved 11th floor, this suite offers a space of 195 sqm, including a 21 sqm terrace, 180° sea views and high-end services in an elegant and timeless backdrop. The suite features two bedrooms, a large lounge and dining area for up to 10 people, and the possibility to connect to a 68 sqm duplex suite including a 9 sqm terrace. Suite Eleven comes with an ultra-personalised welcome, transfers, and a Cocoon Bed on the edge of the lagoon or special access to the Sea Bay (in season).

The Guardsman, London: The Guardsman, set amongst some of London’s most historic and prestigious landmarks, presents guests with a new home away from home experience, featuring 53 luxurious bedrooms, with the top three floors encompassing six exclusive residences. Designed as the perfect London pied-a-terre (second home), they comprise a selection of one, two and three bedrooms, along with sumptuous living spaces, dining areas and fully fitted kitchens. “The Guardsman is designed for those who want the tailored, personal experience offered by a club, the flexibility and luxury of a hotel and the comfort and familiarity of a home,” Rishi Sachdev, managing director, Shiva Hotels, owners and operators of the property, said, “It will also have a conscience, wherever possible putting both its people and the environment at the centre of its decisions.” The Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace are both a short walk away, while the neighbourhood has been the seat of government for a thousand years. The hotel has an unmistakably British feel that befits such a prestigious address. The spaces for dining and socialising are set over two levels, perfect for relaxing, reading, small gatherings or enjoying carefully selected beverages. At the core of the hotel’s personality is the exquisite restaurant, open to residents and their guests only.

The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah: A year after the emirate’s favourite heritage resort – Al Bait Sharjah – opened in the UAE, it is moving under the prestigious umbrella of The Chedi. The resort, now known as The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah, UAE, was developed by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and will now be managed by GHM. The beautifully restored property is housed within an ambitious historical restoration project known as Heart of Sharjah. The Emirati luxury resort comprises of a collection of historic manor houses with 53 guestrooms and suites, and delivers bespoke services where beauty, unparalleled hospitality and a sense of home become inseparable. The architecture and design sensitively reflect Arabian culture and blends harmoniously with the heritage buildings in the district. “In Sharjah, we’ve celebrated local aesthetics and heritage by founding the resort on four homes once occupied by prominent Sharjah families, including the residence of Ibrahim Bin Mohammed Al Midfa with its magnificent barjeel (wind tower),” said GHM president and co-founder Hans R. Jenni. The resort’s overall design pays homage to these original four homes, and a purpose-built museum on property tells the Al Midfa story in two generous galleries.

One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, Rwanda: Offering an exclusive front-row seat to one of the world’s most popular mountain gorilla sanctuaries, the recently opened One&Only Gorilla’s Nest is the ultimate ultra-luxury resort in Kinigi, northwest of Rwanda and just five minutes from Volcanoes National Park. The retreat itself is beautifully designed and features 10 Forest King Lodges, four Two-Bedroom Forest Lodges, five Virunga Suites, one Ingagi and Silverback Suite, each space is designed to frame nature, surrounded by Eucalyptus trees and strategically positioned on stilts. Private decks and in-room fireplaces provide guests the opportunity to live amongst the endless landscape, inviting the outside in, and allowing for a truly unforgettable African experience. Suites offer spacious living and dining areas, as well as a true natural experience with outdoor bathtubs high amongst the trees, offering ultimate privacy. Each lodge design is modern with an African contemporary feel, showcasing the hues of the surrounding vistas, and colours of the earth and natural, local volcanic rock, with touches of black and white Rwandan imigongo patterns.
