Late last year at World Travel Market in London, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), launched a marketing campaign to promote the Southeast Asian country to the world.

Officials from Vietnam’s tourism board launched #VietnamNOW as part of the country’s inbound marketing strategy in Hanoi. #VietnamNOW, a collaborative concept from VNAT and Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board (TAB), presents a fresh and updated view of Vietnam to travellers around the world.

The campaign spotlights the vast array of exciting experiences and world-class products Vietnam offers visitors, alongside its renowned natural beauty, and rich historical and cultural attractions.

“Through #VietnamNOW we hope to expand the image of Vietnam overseas, by showing more of the outstanding options that are available in Vietnam today,” said Dinh Ngoc Duc, director general of VNAT’s Tourism Marketing Department. “Vietnam holds countless possibilities for travellers to enjoy and explore. We want to celebrate the best of travel in Vietnam today through the #VietnamNOW message.”

VNAT officials announced that in addition to promoting Vietnam’s famous street food, Unesco Heritage Sites, cultural treasures and natural landscapes, #VietnamNOW would also highlight new options for travellers, such as golf getaways, wellness retreats, luxury resorts, adventure tourism and urban breaks. Events such as festivals, marathons and the 2020 Formula One Race in Hanoi will be leveraged to build awareness of Vietnam’s diverse tourism assets.

Late last year, Turkish Airlines announced that it will fly to Vietnam’s Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Boasting the world’s widest international flight network with 315 international destinations in 126 countries, Turkish Airlines has started its direct flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which were operated as connected flights until now.

Deciding to operate direct flights with the expectations of the passengers travelling to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in mind, Turkish Airlines will have daily flights to Ho Chi Minh and the flag carrier will fly to Hanoi six days a week (except Sunday). The flights to capital Hanoi will increase to seven days a week on April 2020.

Surrounded by Saigon River, Ho Chi Minh City was added to the flag carrier’s flight network back in December 2010. Located in the southern Vietnam, the city serves as the financial capital of the country while boasting the biggest population and highest number of visitors. The city is a popular tourism centre with its pristine skyscrapers, ornate temples and pagodas.

Turkish Airlines first started to fly to Hanoi, one of the oldest capitals of the world, on June 2016. The city offers an unparalleled travel experience with its historical architecture affected by various societies and rich culture. As the trade, cultural and education centre of North Vietnam, Hanoi is also quite close by to Ha Long Bay, a Unesco World Heritage site.
