IHG is expanding its Saudi Arabia portfolio, adding a Voco to its Jeddah portfolio and an InterContinental set to open in Al Riyadh next year.
The agreement with NouhMohamad Nouh and Partners Limited for Voco Jeddah Gate, marks the third Voco signing in Saudi Arabia in a span of nine months and follows the recent announcement of signing of world’s largest Voco in Makkah.
Expected to open in January 2021, Voco Jeddah Gate will be IHG’s sixth hotel in Jeddah and the fifth brand from the IHG family. The 681-key hotel will occupy a premium location in the Fayhaa area within Jeddah Gate, an integrated master-planned community, which will feature a combination of residential housing units, world-class accommodation, commercial areas as well recreational amenities once complete.
Situated in one of the most sought-after lifestyle destinations, Voco Jeddah Gate will be located just 10 minutes from King Abdulaziz International Airport and in close proximity to the main railroad linking Makkah and Madina to Jeddah, making it a great base for religious tourists.
Another management agreement signed with Al Rawabi Regional Company for Hotels Resorts and Tourism Ltd to open InterContinental Durrat Al Riyadh next year.
InterContinental Durrat Al Riyadh will be located just 25 minutes from King Khalid International Airport and in close proximity to King Abdullah Financial District and high-end shopping malls, making it the ideal choice for leisure and corporate guests looking for ease of connectivity in the Kingdom’s capital.
The converted property will reside on 154,000 sq m of lush green oasis, offering a refuge of relaxation. The urban resort will feature 152 well-appointed rooms and 10 private chalets, offer an array of facilities including five dining options, a kids’ club and miniature golf. Guests focused on wellness and rejuvenation can take advantage of the outdoor and indoor pool, a gym, a tennis courts and a spa. Additionally, the hotel will feature a business centre, seven meeting rooms and a banquet room to cater to the demands of the Mice and corporate segments.
