Thales secures Muscat International

THE opening of the new, highly modernised terminal of Muscat International Airport in

March 2018, services a 17 per cent increase in passenger arrivals per annum.

Thales, a key international player in security, was hired to ensure the realisation of state-of-the-art technology for operations and security infrastructure.

The state-of-the-art technologies provided by Thales focus on the Airport Operation Control Centres and include an advanced perimeter intrusion detection system, video surveillance system with video analytics, access control, screening equipment, e-gates, security check points, as well as a full Airport IT suite that manages airport operations supported by an information broker to handle integration and communications between systems. All systems provided by Thales at Muscat International Airport have gone through a total of 45 operational readiness tests, incorporating over 26,000 participants, successfully meeting and surpassing all expectations and standards.

 

Kandima Maldives launches app

NOW even while relaxing at the beach, guests of the affordable resort of Kandima Maldives will have access to smart services, thanks to their newly launched app. Kandima Maldives has designed its new lifestyle app keeping a full range of guest needs at the centre.

Called K’App, the tech allows guests to bypass check-in and order room service among many other trendy features. Booking and trip extension, ordering food from any of the resort’s ten restaurants and bars during opening hours will now be a simple tap and go exercise.

In addition, K’App will make it even easier for guests to interact with Kandima Buddies for a range of services such as Home Delivery (Kandima’s 24-hour room service), room cleaning, laundry pick-up, luggage collection and mini bar top-up.

Fast and easy to use, K’App is available on both iPhone and Android platforms.

 

Traxo upgrades tools for SMEs

Travelport secures transactions for businesses

TRAVELPORT has partnered with SecurityMetrics, a global leader in data security and PCI compliance, to help agents achieve proof of PCI DSS compliance at preferential rates.

The online wizard tool for PCI compliance from the SecurityMetrics PCI Customer Portal is a quick and easy option for Travelport-connected agents to get started and complete a Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) on their payment processing environment. Merchants and agents can then show proof of compliance through the completion of an Attestation of Compliance.
