Wyndham brings Tryp to Dubai

Early last month, Wyndham Worldwide, the hotel giant with 19 brands and more than 8,100 hotels in 79 countries, announced plans to spin off the company’s hotel business, resulting in two separate, publicly traded companies. Wyndham Hotel Group, will become a new, publicly traded pure-play hotel company with a portfolio of renowned brands. The other publicly traded company will include Wyndham Vacation Ownership, the world’s largest publicly traded timeshare company and Wyndham Destination Network, home to RCI, the world’s largest timeshare exchange company. The corporate names of the post-spin public companies have not yet been decided.

But perhaps, locally more important, is the news that Wyndham Hotel Group has unleashed the world’s largest Tryp by Wyndham Dubai at Al Thanayah – 1, Barsha Heights in Dubai. There are more than 100 hotels under this brand, including in Abu Dhabi, Brisbane, Barcelona, Berlin, Madrid, New York City, Paris, Sao Paulo, and now Dubai.

Tryp by Wyndham Dubai boasts 650 rooms, including 25 fitness rooms and 25 family rooms, which feature family-friendly amenities including separate living room with convertible sofa bed and an extra bathroom. All rooms have sleek and stylish décor, and provide free wi-fi, a safe, a minibar and in-room streaming entertainment. In addition, Tryp Vyp rooms feature a plush premium bed, balcony and exclusive access to the Vyp executive lounge.

Jo-Ella Moore, hotel manager, tells TTN, “Tryp by Wyndham is a brand that is powered by the city. When you stay at Tryp by Wyndham, you’re one of us – and we’re all locals. Savvy and streetwise, we know all the best restaurants, the coolest spots and the fastest ways to tap into the city you came to explore. This is why we are in Barsha Heights – an upcoming thriving and urban community that is just easy access to work or play and home to many small businesses.

“It’s the energy and pulse of Dubai that we bring through the selection of our associates whom we call Trypsters. They can tell our guests about off the beaten paths in Dubai that’s not in guidebooks” –Jo-Ella Moore

“To uncover Dubai’s unique culture, you don’t have to go far, because Tryp brings the city to you. It’s the energy and pulse of Dubai that we bring through the selection of our associates whom we call Trypsters. They can tell our guests about off the beaten paths in Dubai that’s not in guidebooks,” she says.

“We are tapping into different distribution channels as we would like to really capture travellers from different parts of the world who want to experience Dubai from a local’s point of view. We have a fair share of business coming from Online and Offline. Travel Agents and tour operators are very important too as these segments have strong hold in certain markets like the GCC markets, CIS, India, China and more.”

The hotel will feature three food and beverage outlets, including “Local”– a rustic social eating house serving delicacies inspired by favourite comfort foods; “L!QD” – a luxe-bohemian tapas style restaurant and bar ideal for a late-night hangout by the pool – as well as “Barbary – Deli + Cocktail Club”.

Tryp by Wyndham Dubai will also feature “Nest”, one of the region’s first full-service co-working spaces integrated with an international hotel brand, providing a fully equipped shared work and meeting area to help connect, collaborate and learn.

Tryp by Wyndham hotels around the world participate in Wyndham Rewards, the simple-to-use, revolutionary loyalty programme from Wyndham Hotel Group, which offers members a generous points earning structure along with a flat, free night redemption rate-the first of its kind for a major rewards programme.
